Cucumber and Citrus Infused Water

Orange Cucumber Water

I still remember the most relaxing day I’ve ever experienced. It was my birthday, and my hubby gave me a trip to a day-spa. I went with my friend, and all day we sat in the hot tub, periodically leaving it for massages and facials. I have never experienced a more luxurious day, before or since. For that whole day, wherever we went in the spa, nearby was a graceful pitcher of ice water with cucumber and orange slices floating in it. It was amazing how refreshing that slightly enhanced water was! Whenever I’d like to recapture that day, or anticipate spending a summer day with friends, I make that cucumber and citrus infused water, and suddenly I’ve brought the spa to my own backyard! As it so happens, it’s also a great option for a P90x drink, because it has slight, refreshing flavor without any calories or nasty chemicals.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pitcher ice water
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced

Wash and slice orange and cucumber, add to ice water. Let sit for at least 10 minutes to let flavors infuse the water.

P90x Nutrition Plan Portions:

None, but this may help you drink your water!

    CJ,

This is my favoriiiteeee! I’ve just been putting a slice of cucumber in my glass of water. Golly, every water I drink now has a cucumber in it! I haven’t tried it with the orange yet, although I am looking forward to that. Lemon works pretty well with it tho too! 🙂

    Thanks again!

    Good Afternoon!

Do you know how long this drink would last refrigerated?

      Hey Jason!
I tried refrigerating it overnight once with the cucumber and citrus slices still in there, and it didn’t work out that well. The next day it had obviously steeped too long. I haven’t tried removing the citrus and cucumber slices though, which I think would help. My research indicates that prepared foods can typically last 48-72 hours in the fridge, so my guess would be that this would be the same. If and when I make this again, I’ll try it and see. Please do come back and comment on here if you try it and tell us the result!
