BBQ Meatballs



I made some meatballs today for two of my husband’s protein servings. It was a nice change!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb very lean ground beef (I get 4% fat) or ground turkey
  • Worchestershire (to taste)
  • Garlic salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the ground beef in a bowl, generously sprinkle with Worchestershire, garlic salt, and pepper. Add BBQ sauce, and mix with your hands. Form into silver-dollar-sized meatballs. Place them in the skillet, and brown each side, covering while it cooks. 5-10 minutes or until all sides of the meatballs are brown.

P90x Nutrition Plan Portions:

3 oz. of meatballs are 1 protein serving, 1/2 condiment.

P.S. My hubby likes these more when served with another 1 Tb. of fat free BBQ sauce, either toss them in it or serve on the side for dipping, which would make this meal 1 full condiment serving. Or you could use a little less BBQ in the actual meatballs so there is more for dipping.

    This recipe sounded so good, but when I made them the meatballs did not stay together. They all crumbled and turned out like ground beef. Any suggestions??? I was thinking maybe add an egg white to the mixture. But besides that, it was delicious 🙂

      Hey Courteney – Sorry these crumbled on you. I think adding an egg white is a great idea! That should do the trick. – CJ =)
